(CNN)The Oklahoma state legislature has passed a bill that would criminalize abortion procedures in the state. According to the language of the bill, anyone who is found to have performed an abortion -- except in instances to save the life of the mother -- will be found guilty of a felony and can receive up to three years in prison.

The bill now is on its way to Gov. Mary Fallin, a Republican, for final approval.

Once Fallin has the bill she has five business days to decide if she will approve the legislation. If she doesn't sign or veto the bill, it automatically becomes law, according to McNutt.

Christians: TIME TO DUMP Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin! Another LIBERAL masquerading as a Republican. This proves it. We need to CLEAN HOUSE of all these 'DO NOTHING' people like FALLIN who were elected as conservatives. That's why we need to dump Republican career politicians across-the-board - AND vote Trump. Republicans have held BOTH the House and Senate -- and have not furthered conservative causes at all. TIME FOR CHANGE. TIME to take a STAND - which Mary Fallin failed to do...

Going against her past tradition, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin on Friday vetoed an anti-abortion bill on grounds that it was vague and would not stand against a challenge.

Fallin is considered the most pro-life governor in the country and has a long history of signing pro-life and pro-family legislation.

"The bill is so ambiguous and so vague that doctors cannot be certain what medical circumstances would be considered 'necessary to preserve the life of a mother,' " Fallin said in a statement Friday.
